Has anyone heard of the supra turbo swap from an 87-92 supra turbo? I know of a guy that does this swap to ae86s with great success. Is this an easy swap? I might be able to find a good engine cheap.

Thanks

That's one of the few WEB sites out there that actually is good enough to warrant a subscription. Their tech articles are usually damned good. Lot's of info on that site. Would love to read the rest of that article! icon_smile.gif

P.S. The Aero information on this page should be of interest to more than a few of us -> http://www.autospeed.com/A_1071/page1.html Several good articles there...

So you recomend this site? It's only 10 bucks for 6 months. I'd consider it if they would give me enough details to do the swap. http://www.kwcengine.com has this engine for $500 in a long block! If there aren't some serious hidden costs it's way cheaper than the V8 route. Building a chevy would be a blast, but so would this. Besides I'll have plenty of time for V8s my friend wants to build a Knight Rider Trans Am Replica of KAR, KIT's evil brother. Thanks.

I'm not sure that you'd find enough details to do the swap but if you explore around on that site you'll find lot's of articles and tech tips that I think are pretty good. They seem to update fairly often and to actually have as much tech stuff as many mags combined. If this is a swap you're seriously considering then the $10 might be a worthwile investment. Heh, anyone here already have a subscription that could tell him if it's worth it?

Its a inline six replacing a inline six right? Cake. I don't think it'd be that hard. The motor/trans mounts on three points, I'd establish the rear where you want it (I.E. line the shifter up in the hole if possible) and then just locate the front motor mounts and see if you need a short setback plate or something to tie into the datsun motor mount or if your luckly, they'll very close to where Datsun had their's. Check exhaust and pan clearances and serve/enjoy. icon_smile.gif

I had a subscription to AutoSpeed. It was worth it - $10 for some good, informative articles. I read up on intercooling and FI, and enjoyed reading about all the crazy Aussie stuff. I got what I wanted out of it, didn't feel like keeping up the subscription though.
