Guest HIGHRPM
HI GUYS. Does anyone know if there is a true formula for working out horsepower loss from the crank to the wheels with the different tranys or is it just a rough estimate or given % ??? Hey, Grumpvette!! might you dyno program give any hints?? Thanks for your time guys. Rod
Guest Thurem
No such thing,it all depends on how efficient the particular drivetrain is. Tons of variables. But an average figure might be like 17% loss. So you can multiply crank horsepower by 0.83 to get wheel horsepower. Or divide wheel horsepower by 0.83 to get crank horsepower.
