hey guys,

let me start out with the pics:

a shot from the front:

intercoolerfront.jpg

here it is from the top:

intercoolertop.jpg

and from the side:

intercoolerpass.jpg

anywho....my question is this...am i going to run into any problems from running the IC at a slight angle? i can run it striaght up and down...but it really encloses the radiator and also imho looks out of place....but when at an angle...the radiator has more room to breath...and the IC is sitting at the same slant that the front of the car has...so it looks better too. plus!!!..the plumbing would be easier at and angl;e as well..

here is my site: the turbo project i will update it

a little better after i complete it...right now im too busy on the car to mess with a web site tongue.gif

thanks for the comments and questions....

Maybe try ducting it some? Out something between it and the radiator to force airflow through one and into the other?

Tilting it might lose a little bit of effeciency but since intercoolers mostly act as big heatsinks for limited bursts of cooling I think what you're doing ought to work fine. I've also read somewhere that angling a radiator can cause it to cool better so if it works for one it ought to work for the other. I think it was a radiator site that had said that but I'm fuzzy on where I'd seen it. Heck, with all of that space you've got there I'd maybe even consider a Taurus cooling fan for the intercooler too! :D

I agree with BLKMGK, ducting can really spruce things up, and ensure that air finds it easiest to go through your I/c, not around it (by "reflecting" from the angle)

You could make a simple sheet metal duct and weld it, you would actualy want to make it convex.. so that it gets larger as it goes toward the i/c..

like that..

so long as you don't reduce the entrance area to less than 1/4 of the core area, you will see an improvement in the efficiency. Well worth the sheet metal cost, IMO!

Anyway, good luck with the mounting and all that
