yo2001
Scotty got me thinking about the heat transfering to the intake causing the performance loss. Well, how about ceramic coating the intake? that would keep the exhuast heat to transfer to the intake. Right? Anybody done this before or want to try it? Guest Anonymous
I didn't want to ****around with heat shielding so I sent my intake to jet hot right along with my exhaust manifold. I got quoted for about $80 for ea. so I couldn't pass it up. Its in the coating process as we speak
yo2001
let me know the result. $80 isn't bad at all.
Scottie-GNZ
You want to have a jet-hot/ceramic coating or wrap for the exhaust manifold, but I think a thermal dispersant is what you want for the intake.
Lockjaw
I hope they aren't putting that stuff on the inside of your intake. I have to be a skeptic here, but I have never ever noticed at any time with any engine any performance gain with a heat shield. Yes they may look pretty, but does anybody have any evidence that a heat shield makes more power? I would like to see it.
