Guest Anonymous
I got the z runnin yesterday. I should have gotten a new oil pressure sender cause the one I have leaks and now I have alot to clean. the wires are a mess so I need to get some loom to clean them up. I was just so excited to hear the thing run it sounds great even with just manifolds. I thought I might have a problem with the electronic ignition but it works fine. I got stuck with a q jet (don't ask)just to get it running will go with a 600 double pumper in the future. still need to paint engine bay thought. i will get you guys some pics when I get a camera. also need to make slave cylinder mount. alot of little things I have to make before it hits the street. also need driveshaft shortened to 19 3/4. will keep you posted

Guest Anonymous
Congrats Landis, thats super. Can't wait to see a SB Mopar Z, thats a sweet swap. I've followed your progress and don't recall, but how was the clearance on that setup? Anything unusual hitting the frame rails, or steering column shaft? Guest Anonymous
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that a small mopar isn't any harder than a chevy. This is of course if you make all the mounts for yourself for both swaps. The distributor on a mopar is smaller so you can position the engine farther back. The manifolds clear the rack if you offset like a chevy. A mechanical pump can be used and the oil filter even clears if you use a small one s8 stp I believe. The starter clears the framerails fine even with the standard starter. No set back plates are required for mounts. Just cut down truck mounts to the right height. The big problems are lack of hydraulic clutch parts for mopar(I will be making my own hydraulic slave mount) and limited tranny selection. Guest Anonymous
Cool, that sounds pretty straightforward, plus you get a bit of a weight break on a mopar over the chevy 30 lbs or so. Pretty cool, should be loads of fun. Regards, Lone
Z-Gad
Mopars are so cool. I just love the way it sounds..."MOPAR" Great to finally have a member put one in a Z to blaze the way I look forward to the pics
pparaska
Very cool. Can't wait to see some pics of the mounts, etc. Doesn't someone make a bellhousing (blowproof) to mount a Tremec 5spd to a Mopar block? That'd open up tranny possibilities.
