Guest Anonymous
My 76 with the msa 6-1 header just blew a large hole in the number 3 runner. This N42 head has been modded for better flow, cam, and cold air intake with 2.5 in exhaust, glasspack, and turbo muffler. I added the header when I did all this work and am not sure how much performance it added. It's been 7 years since installing this header and I was wondering what is recommended today. Thanks. Synlubes
I think Motorsports headers are good for the money. They have the all important thick flange needed so they don`t warp. They seem to last a good few years. Now, for the real money(approx $400.00)you get a header with equal length tubes, choices of tube diameter. What may be refered to as a "race header". There is a bit better quaility in them as well (IMO). I would have to say that these features make a difference, but I don`t have proof on paper. katman
For a street L28 with your mods I'd stick with a 1.5 inch primary about 34 inches long with 2-1/4 collectors about a foot long followed by a 2.5 tailpipe. If you can afford it I'd go Jere Stahl for the headers. Short of that, well, lets just say that from a performance standpoint the rest make about the same noise. Synlubes
Yeap, A Stahl is a real header!

Mudge
7 years isn't toooooooo bad, they do not last like regular manifolds. Get your new one ceramic coated, and that should keep it lasting a good long while.
