Mike C
Do a Google search for tuning SUs or get a service manual for a 70-72 (you do have round top SUs?)you can usually get the manuals at a used book store for less than $5. You will need a Unisyn to do it right, howerver. Summit has them as well as MSA and others. They are not hard to tune, but you should get the book that identifies what are mixture adjustments, what are speed adjustments and what are balance adjustments. jimzdat
Also consider going to www.ztherapy.com and ordering the "Just SU" video--4 hours of info on rebuilding and tuning the SU carbs I had the video when I had a SU equipped car, and found it to be a very useful tool, and well worth the 20 bucks
Guest Anonymous
Go to Eric Neyerlin's website www.zparts.com Select ZP Tech from the top navigator & read my article on tuning SUs. I hope this will enlighten you. It sounds to me like you have a pretty bad air leak somewhere in your induction system. Could even be your brake booster... How do your brakes feel??
