Guest Anonymous
Hi, been readin these forums for a while now but this is my first post. My (stock fuel injected) 77 280 is cuts out under 1500 rpms and backfires out the air intake, once it gets up higher its alright. Also goin down the highway at like 70 it will do it for a couple seconds like once ever 30 sec. Thanks a bunch for the help... Also does anyone have a vacuum diagram they could email me? I gotta vacuum hose that I cant figure out where it goes.

Guest Anonymous
You might have plugged fuel lines. Take the gas cap off and run it and see if there is any problems. My old silver Z has a plugged line and can't get air to the tank and and after running for an indefinite period sputters for a little until the gas cap is removed or vented. Guest Anonymous
I have fuel deliveery problems on my 1976 280z as well; It backfires out of the air cleaner when warming up, has horrible power while warming up, cuts out every once and a while. I have found three things to deal with it. 1. replace the fuel filter. If it hasent been done in a while it can get real shitty. 2. Run plus or premium gas-you get 5+ mpg and it starts easier. 3. Keep the gas tank full. when it gets under a 1/8 of a tank it is very hesitant and i had it cut out one time when i cornered hard. hope it helps. F. I. is prehistoric and ******* annoying in these cars...
Nismo280zEd
My car had and has the exact same damn problem i have a 78 280 w/ bolt ons and ported head. replaced every electronic sensor under the hood and would fix it for a week then would come back. replaced the tank flushed my lines, replaced all the vacumn and fuel rubber lines. still does what yours does. except if i put mine to the floor at idle it won't go past 4 then dies till 1,5 then up to 4 again. i'm gonna try the gas cap idea tomorrow.
