Guest Anonymous
Hey guys. I am looking for ideas on an engine swap. I want this thing to be able to make around 450rwhp, and somewhat realiable, that will be able to be streetable. I have thought about doing a SBC but I am not sure how the weight will play in with the streetable part. Any weight guesses? I am also looking at the 3S-GTE, 13B, and SR20DET, but have not found much information on the 3S or 13B engine swaps. I don't even know if it's been done. I know more HP means less reliable, and the smaller engines will be pushed alot harder to make that much power. Thanks
stony
rb26 and the 2jz can handle 500+ and be very reliable
Scottie-GNZ
X2K9DU That is not necessarily an accurate statement and is more applicable to NA engines. If you want 450+hp and perfect street manners with gas mileage to boot, then turbo is the way to go. Remember, when you are not in boost, you are driving a mildly cammed, low-compression engine. Thanks[/quote'] wow you know a S30Z weighs in at about 2200 lbs in full trim? do you know what 450+ hp will do to a car with that weight? MAKE IT SCREAM. just put in a L31ET you'll make 380 hp easily and fuel allowing you can just turn the boost controller up and make 440 hp...if you want to get to that high a number quickly build a 383 stroker up they make huge tq and relativly high hp numbers too.. and with aluminum heads dont weigh much more than a L series engine. I've never seen a 3S/13B swap (if you want reliable 13B is NOT the engine to go with) You know to make a 450 hp street driven Z...it'll cost about twice what you thought because you need a fully worked suspension redone axles with Z31 CVs bigger brakes some sort of upgraded power steering etc., be prepared to shell out[/b]
