The day that everything broke

Saturday the alternator in my geo stopped working, today the headlight on my bike shorted out, and on the way to the store the transmission in my BMW took a dump.

I fixed the Geo alternator with a set of 3$ brushes, the short I can fix at work tomorrow, The trans in the BMW is gonna be a problem though, will have to buy used trans for 400$ and stick it in.

But the point is today, before I fixed that alternator, none of my running vehicles ran (The Z is still sitting without a motor). Next point is, if was not a mechanic I would have spent 150 to 200 for an alternator, 50 to a 100 for a shop to fix my bike, and at least 1200 to 1600 to have the trans rebuilt. HMMM looks like I'm 1500 ahead, what should I spend that on, new crank rods and pistons for my 350 Z motor. I wish, the problem is I just don't have that money even though I just made it, so to speak.

Damn, Thure, it sucks to be you!

A couple of years ago, when I made the 300 mile trek south to buy my Z, the alternator in the BMW blew, forcing us to abort 50 miles from home. Then the next day, the Z died on the way back home, 50 miles from our starting point. Then the next day, the alternator on the truck died on the way down to retrieve the Z! Sometimes you just have NO karma in your account.

What kind of BMW you got? A bad day driving a BMW is better than a good day driving a Geo. ;)

This brings back painfull memories of last summer... The Honda Civic was down with a fuel pump relay issue, My truck left me stranded due to what turned out to be heat soaked battery cables, and as I was leaving my sub-division on my motorcycle to get gas in it for the drive to work next day, guess what it does??? RUNS OUT OF GAS due to a fuel leak... I own SIX Cars and all were down except my wife's Mustang! To add insult to injury I had to PUSH the bike a little over a half mile and during the push the roll back with my truck on it drove right past me, and dropped the NOW RUNNING TRUCK in my driveway... Wires had time to "Cool Off"! Talk about coming un-glued... It was a bad day to say the least... I feel your pain!
