z ya
So are your 11.7's coming with the 3.54's or 3.90's. I have the 3.54's and am wondering if I should go the 3.7 or 3.90 route? I figured with the 3.06 first gear in the 700r4 and the 3000 stall it would pull real good from a dead dig.
z ya
Are you flashing the converter from idle or brake stalling ?? If brake stalling how much will it stall up before the wheels spin??
Guest Anonymous
just for comparison sake. im running 73 240 with near stock Lt-1 4l60, 3.54. i ran a 12.8 with 1.9 60ft on street tires. dont overdo the throttle on the start, ease into it and you will have less wheel spin and better times. I figured with the 3.06 first gear in the 700r4 and the 3000 stall it would pull real good from a dead dig. I'm getting those with 3.54's. I had an exhaust system that isn't as good as what the car has now, and it ran 11.60's with the 3.90's. I then put the 3.54's in, and the car slowed to 11.70's and 11.80's. Improving the exhaust system brought it back down to 11.70's. Actually, now that I think about it, I think it pulled off one high 11.60 with the 3.54's recently. I'll have to go try to find the recent timeslips. I would probably go with the 3.90's, depending on the specifics of your engine and converter. Guest zfan
I'm running a 3.70 lsd rear end with 225/60-15 Yokahama avs intermediates. My convertor is a B&M holeshot with an advertised stall speed of 2300 rpm's. I can spin the tires with my foot on the brakes at 1600 t0 1700 rpm's. I never really played with tire pressure until a friend of mine took me out and we lowered tire pressure to 15 lbs and an easy launch, just of idle. Man the car really hooked up well. Now if I can get my jetting, cam selection down then I will be ok. I think I am going to try the red cams with a 2 on 2 setting on my 750 dp. The pinks I have been using are in at 2 and cam is in at 3. I read that with lite cars like ours you want a fast squirt of gas not a long drink so to speak.
