Guest Anonymous
OK, I've committed to doing the 240mm turbo flywheel upgrade in order to hold down more torque. Here is what I have now: 82 turbo flywheel (being resurfaced) SPEC stageII clutch kit (disk, pressure plate, TO bearing) What else do I need for the conversion? I currently am running a CenterForce DF clutch on a coupe flywheel using the 280Z TO collar. I've been through the archives on both here and Zcar.com and come up with conflicting information. Do I need a new: Clutch fork? TO Bearing Collar? Slave cylinder? Master cylinder? The clutch and flywheel are going behind a stock 82ZX 5-speed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BayAreaZT
I'm in the process of converting to the 240mm flywheel. I changed everything you listed except the TO bearing collar. Does the 2+2 trannys and standard trannys use different collars? I thought they were the same because they use the same TO bearing but now I'm reading that they're different. Anyone know for sure? Guest Anonymous
I just picked up a new collar just in case. I went to Autozone and picked up a throwout bearing assembly. It comes with a new collar. I noticed that the P/N is different between the coupe and 2+2 with 240mm clutch. Total cost for the assembly was $24.00.
RB26powered74zcar
If I remember corectly, My SPEC clutch set came with the collar on the t/o bearing. I bought the 240mm carbon sprung hub set, and it holds it...
