BARACU
The JTR manual recommends a fan shroud from a 76-79 Nova with a 350. Has anyone , actually used this shroud? If so , how did it fit and work. Is it available as an aftermarket itemand from where, I would prefer getting a new one. Any info on a shroud would be appreciated, Thanks, in advance
DavyZ
You know, I think many of us, if not most of us, are using some kind of electric fan: Taurus fan with stock shroud or even a Flex-a-lite 150 fan. Engine driven fans are ok, but the electric ones are better. I'm sorry if this does not help you, but I do think that most are using electric fans now. Hopefully someone can weigh in that is still using the engine driven fan with Nova shroud. Davy
timh
I used it for the first 2-3 years I had to trim small areas around the upper and lower hoses, as well as the cooler lines. It fits well and look good. I ended up going with the taurus fan when I put the AC back on. I doubt you'll find a new one, but mine seemed to clean up quite well with a vinyl protectant. Cost was $7.50 from a junkyard.
BARACU
I'm aware of the popularity of the electric fan, but at this point, I'm hoping for more a traditional look. I've already added a few extra wires up front , in case I have to go electric. The repro shrouds seem to end at '74 -'75. Unfortunately, in NE Pa., most cars from the 70's have been stripped or sent to the crusher. Any other input would be appreciated
Guest Rick Johnson
I used a fan shroud from a 89 or 90 Ford Aerostar (I think - it was 8 years ago). It fits real well and definately has that stock look which I also wanted.
BARACU
Rick: Thanks for the information on the Aerostar shroud. Finding one of those in good condition should be much easier than the Nova one, I'll ckeck it out. Thanks again.
