350 TPI...

Hey all, since I didn't get as much car money (I got $3000, but only got $800 to spend on my car) as I had hoped, my Z project is going along pretty slowly, so my money must be wisely spent...I've got access to a 350 TPI from a 1988 IROC Camaro for $300. Is this worth it? I like the idea of a nice, running 350 for 300 bucks, but you guys know more than I do, and I don't want to get ripped off smile.gif

Also, what are the differences, if any, with the older small blocks i.e. a 1974 Nova 350?

Thanks all! smile.gif

Sounds like a great deal to me, but I'd make sure that you're geting the computer, maf, wiring, and all the little misc relays that go along with it. That stuff could nickle and dime you to death. Of course, if you're going to use an aftermarket harness, that part wouldn't matter too much. I'd verify the numbers on the block to make sure its a 350, and not a 305...they look the same. rockon.gif:cool:

If as mentioned you get all the components (computer, harness etc..) of the complete TPI system AND the engine (305 or 350 really) then its one hell of a score I'd say.

A typical complete TPI intake setup with dist, harness and computer runs easily 300-600 bones depending on year and if someone has polished/powercoated or whatever, so I can't see how you could lose with that. An opinion of course.

Regards,

Lone
