Mudge
Does anyone know if the ignition control module is the same on both cars? I see so far that the EGI relay is not wired exactly the same, and I know the computer is 1 connector versus 3, so I am unsure about the ignition setup which I am missing. There is an NA ZX one available so I'd like to know, or if anyone has a pic of a ZXT version that would answer as well
Bernardd
No module on zxt. Timing is ecu controlled. Ecu sends signal to transistor to allow voltage to the coil.
Mudge
Yep, I know this now. Has a transistor/ignitor only, my problem now is no fuel delivery.
Bernardd
Injectors not firing?? Fuel pump not turning on??
Mudge
I wired the fuel pump seperate from OEM. It does turn on, and I had it unhooked from the rail to check it. I have pin 10 (gl) on the ECU grounded (neutral safety), and pin 5 (y/w) to the transistor negative. I took off injector clip #6 and hooked it to the VOM, after cranking for about 7 seconds I still got no voltage.
speeder
Make sure that your crank angle sensor if '81 system (or distributor if it is an '82 or '83) is wired correctly. This problem sounds like no rpm signal to the ECU.
Mudge
I've checked the wiring on that one, hooks up to 17/36/8 on the computer wiring and BW hooks to BW on the EFI relay. I litterally think I have to draw out the entire wiring diagram, because I've tested each circuit several times on the EFI harness, and the EFI gets power, as does the coil. Bernardd
So your getting spark? Have you got voltage across the injectors with key on? By that I mean one side of injector to grd. Could be ecu. I've got one in the garage. It your's for shipping if you need it. Can you remove the cas, then turn on key, have someone test input pin on ecu, or harness, while you slowly turn cas. I think it's 0-5v. I'll check tonight.
