mobythevan
Now that the turbo engine is running I just have a few things to sort out before a test drive. Today I drilled out the broken studs from the downpipe so I can get exhaust hooked up, probably after the test drive though. I need to get a 90 degree 3 inch tube so I can mount my air filter. I am also having a friend braze a fitting to put in the drain plug of the gas tank so I can get my electric pump hooked up. If I can get those couple things together by this weekend I am going to hit the driveway and see how it runs. My driveway is over a quarter mile long. Maybe I'll hit the road a little too, there aren't any cops out were I live.
DatsunBoy77
My driveway is over a quarter mile long. You can do test and tune in your own driveway. You could even charge people to test out there.
Mudge
LoL... What did you guys do about the throttle actuation? I am ripping out my choke cable to see if I can use that temporarily, its pretty long in its stock form though...
mobythevan
I built a bracket to relocate my linkage. I think I have an L26 linkage which is a different length from the firewall, so it looks like it will work.
Mudge
Hmm, ok. I did notice that mine falls a bit short (240), and then read later that the 280ZX/T firewall is 3" further forward than the 240. Supposedly the injected linkage from any 280 works(?), but I guess your covered.
mobythevan
I also have leaky injectors, which looks like they may be the most time consuming thing left to deal with before the car hits the road. Not sure yet if the fuel line is leaking or the injectors themselves.
Mudge
Someone passed on a link to http://www.sherco-auto.com for new injectors $99 for all 6, thats where I ordered from. Or I know of a couple people on Zcar that have a used set, I can pass on an email of a guy in NY that has a set for $50.
