innerware
Hi guys, I am going to replace my drive shaft soon and have the part from msa. I need to replace the rear transmission seal as well and can't find in my manual how to do this. Is it simply pry out the old and press in the new? Any special tools needed? What do I oil the new one with and the driveshaft that slips into it? Or do I not need to? Is marking the old driveshaft and diff and transfering the mark to the new one important? If so why? Shouldn't the new one be nicely balanced? I am a newby at fixing things and if I can't find why in writing I don't have past experience to pull from. That is why there is Hybridz.org Thanks as always everyone is great. Kyle
SleeperZ
As far as I know, pry out the old, press in the new - that's what I did. Grease the inside lip of the seal, and insert driveshaft - there is no marking (the shaft end is splined, no way is it matched at the factory). Your new shaft should be balanced, just install it.
