mobythevan
On my 83zxt ECU, how should the green LED operate? I know once the O2 sensor is up to temp then the LED is suppose to flash as the ECU samples and updates the fuel mixture. But what happens with this LED during starting, turning key on, etc.. I don't have a factory manual yet. I don't remember it doing anything yet on my ECU.
Mudge
Mine shows a solid green when key ON and cranking, Wayne (ZCar.com guy that answers everyones questions) says this just is saying "hello, O2 sensor here ready to go."
mobythevan
OK, I'll see what it does now that I have a new O2 sensor.
mobythevan
yep, new O2 sensor fixed the problem. Now I get green LED on when I turn the key on.
Lockjaw
It will also go solid green when it goes into open loop, which happens at a certain RPM, and when you get on the throttle.
Mudge
Thats about the one thing on my car that actually works...
Lockjaw
What the green light? Thats funny. It is actually a good little deal to tell you if your O2 is going bad, you should have 5 cycles in 10 seconds at 2000 rpms when the car is warm, and at night you should be able to clearly see it flashing when cruising. Of course you could be dumb like me and take you O2 out. The 110 leaded and it just don't get along.
