Xander
Hi, I just ordered the MSA 6 into 1 header for my 260Z. Any tips or things to look out for when installing it? Xander
Guest 240hybrid
When removing your old manifold make sure not to snap any of the studs holding it to the head. I have heard of this happening and a special bite or your drill is needed, like a screw or drill bite but threads are in opposite direction. You drill out the center of the problem stud/bolt with a regualr drill bite and use this bite in your drill while set on reverse and jam the special bite in and the opposite threads grab the sidewall of the hole and reverse the stud the rest of the way. Good luck with the install.
Guest Venture-Z
I run a felpro gasket on mine. Some people dont like them, but I have had no problems. Take a large file across the gasket surface to eleminate any high spots. My gasket surface was a little thinner than the stock intake manifold, so I had to do a little shimming, but no problems so far. You'll also want to bring your motor up to temp, let it cool, then re-tourque all your fasteners. I have a 2 1/2" pipe on my 280 and with my cam the idle sounds just mean.
