Guest shuyun
Electromotive became Nissan Performance Technology Incorporated (NPTI) in 1989 and shut down in 1993/4? does anyone have the companies engine building data?
johnc
Jim Thompson at Sunbelt has a lot of the head information and computer models. John Knepp was the engine builder for Electromotive and he probably has everything or has given it to Caldwell at CDI in Vista. Bill Savage at SP Engineering in Vista did a lot of the chassis fabrication for the NPTI cars and he probably knows how to get in touch with Knepp.

Guest shuyun
When thy ran in the 2.5 class What motor combo did they use? I have seen different reports on the motor some say they had a 2.8 others a 2.5 but the reports say they got about 600hp and 600lb/ft form their motors and I wanted to know how to do this. Thanks
johnc
The 600+ horsepower numbers thrown around are for their turbocharged L28 motors run on the 280 and 300ZXs.
Lockjaw
That was the turbo engine(s) they used in Paul Newmans car. It was a 2.8 liter I believe but they used the FJ rods, and forged pistons made by venolia. The also used a full T4 turbo. It was intercooled and all that. There is a link on either IZCC or Zcar about the car. It was pretty fast, even by todays standards. Electramotive made around 300 HP on the NA engines using huge cams and 50mm triple sidedrafts. The used different sized chokes in the carbs depending on where they were running to change the operating powerband of the car. Smaller for more bottom end, and larger for all out HP.
