Guest Anonymous
So after selling my two stock Z cars three years ago to pay for college I want to come back with a bang so I am working on starting my first V-8 conversion Z and want fuel injection. I was wondering if any one has any opinions or information on how much this equipment and or time this will cost me just as a general estimate. Things I am interested in are learning curve, available software, good companies to contact, etc. I have not yet decided on what engine type or make if anyone has any advice on that as well I will also welcome it. Guest Zcarsmakemyheadhurt
Use a small block Chevy alway. Cheaper to build and I it's the perfected egine. If your on a budget use GM Vortech cylinder heads, they flow very well and are cheap. Convert a carb intake to fuel injection that is correct for the cam you will be useing. Find a good engine builder and buy your parts from a person that wil not stear you wrong....me. Good luck.
Tim240z
Easiest way to get your feet wet with FI is to go factory like LT1 or LS1. Tim
Lockjaw
Yeah, and edelbrock, holley and accel all offer kits for the SBC that get them up and running with EFI. Another option is a 5.0 liter Ford swap, rumor has it their efi is simple to wire up, and parts are cheap.
