I searched but most threads were a little vague. Someone who I know for a fact is a Z expert told me a 88 maxima bracket and ZXT caliper and ZXT brake line works. Everyone here talked about a 82 maxima and said nothing about turbo parts(I think) well which is it does someone know. thier goin on a 78 280 Many detales pleese , I'm not wery smert sea I kan't heven tipe :bonk:

PS and REALLY CHEAP, I know , cheap but not good, good but not cheap , fast and cheap and whatever the car has sat for three years in florida where in the summer its so humid you can spit and it will rain a little right in front of you so DO YOU WANT TO TRY TO DO THOSE DRUMS, HHMMM????

What you are looking for are 80 to early 82 Maxima rear caliper brackets that bolt-on, then you use 79- 83 280ZX rear rotors and calipers. I have a pair of these Maxima brackets and a pair of used 79 280ZX calipers that you could rebuild or use as a core. I'll be going to a "live axle" rearend because of the power I'll making, so I have no need for these brackets or calipers and would part with them for $100 cash. If you or anybody else is interested, e-mail me. :)

p.s. These brackets are rare and hard to find, took me over a year!

I was asking for speciics because at Autozone the 79-81 and 82-83 rear calipers were different part numbers and I know someone with a crashed ZX(not sure which year) but I know i can buy the rotors and calipers for CHEAP but I didn't want to get the wrong year or N/A parts when I need turbo or whatever. You know?

the important thing is to get the rotors and calipers from the same year of car. They bolt up the same but the depth of the rotors are different from some years which require the same year model of calipers to line up properly.

Like I said, you can use 79 thru 83 280ZX calipers, granted the 82 -83 calipers are a better choice being that they are larger. So what you do is buy 82-83 calipers from your Autozone and pay the core charge and then take the 79 calipers back to collect your core charge. The brackets are what your really looking for right? They alone are worth $100, I was throwing in the 79 calipers as a bonus. The offer still stands so let me know.

Denny411 is correct reguarding matching rotors and calipers.

I must be very lucky then because the second yard I called had a pair for $15 I pull. Now to find out what year they are, get the same year caliper , rebuild kits, and PUT THEM ON A CAR THAT DOESN'T RUN YET!!!!!

HHHHMMMMM... while I'm at it...
