Guest 90hbstock
I own a 1979 280zx and was wondering if there are any nitrous kits out there for my car. I don't want a lot maybe 50-75 shot, just to surprise people. If there are any links I would really appreciate it along with any advice. Thanks. Lockjaw
Just get a single fogger and go with it.
BayAreaZT
A dry setup will work if you are shooting for 50hp and it is pretty simple to install. Just don't get greedy and jet it too high.
Guest 90hbstock
Who makes the kit?NOS? Nitrous Works? Nitrous Express? All of them? I just was wondering what kind ,if any, you guys were using. Which works the best?
Guest Zcarsmakemyheadhurt
Lots of systems for your car...NOS works has the most affordable. The company NOS has the most complete systems and Compucar are my favorite, but they are a hi end company. Your best bet is buy it from someone that knows whats best to sell you and will give you a safe winning combination. I have experienc with NOS on turbo and normally asperated cars of many flavors. Mustangs, Hondas and yes super bad ass Z cars. Let me know if your interested in picking up a kit from me.
Guest DaneL24
Don't use a dry shot, you'll just make the engine run lean. Wet shot is the best way to go.
Guest 90hbstock
Well, do you guys know of any places online to buy the wet kit? I can't seem to find one. I want to just order it online.

I can not find one that says my car and am beginning to wonder if I should just buy the improt fuel injection kits or is there a specific kit for a 280zx? Guest DaneL24
You should get the "NOSsle", its spacer that fits between your current injectors and intake manifold, and it has ports for injecting both gasoline and nitrous (wet system). N.O.S. (Nitrous Oxide Systems) makes it. I think it would be good to lower the compression of the motor a little too. This will allow for a greater shot of nitrous. The lower compression might make the car a little slower during everyday driving, but you could compensate for it with some bigger gears. You could advance the ignition timing after lowering the compression, but that would defeat the purpose of lowering the compression, as you would have to readjust the timing if you planned to use the nitrous. So maybe get a 2mm head gasket for lower compression and some bigger gears with a wet system. A cam with decent valve overlap would help scavenge the cylinders with all the extra exhaust volume from the nitrous too. Maybe this is getting a bit far though... Guest 90hbstock
Thanks for the help. So buy lowering the compression it makes it safer to run more nitrous? That's good to know.
Guest Anonymous
I agree that a wet nitrous system would be the way to go, a single fogger would be fairly simple to setup provided that your fuel system is setup correctly.Nos kits are pretty straight forward. http://phots.yahoo.com/sss510six
