i was wondering whether any of you guys with RB26dett engines could tell me if you use the origional crossmember engine mounts or not. the reason is i'm trying to get a power steering setup to work but am running into the same problem as fastzcars where the steering input into the rack hits the engine mount on the crossmember. check out this site http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/graphequ@pacbell.net/lst?&.dir=/zcar&.src=ph&.begin=17&.view=t&.order=&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/bc/graphequ@pacbell.net/lst%3f%26.dir=/zcar%26.src=ph%26.view=t any info would be helpful. i'm currently trying a unit from a 91 subaru legacy wagon.

cool! well that gives me some information at least. if i can manage to keep the steering linkages close to stock then i shouldn't run into any problems when i eventually install an rb engine.

J260z, Hi sorry about the long delay in response. I normally don't look at the RB series swap forum. I'm still trying to get the miata rack to fit. After I bought a gas welder, I tried to modify the cross member, But since i'm a Never used one before, the welds didn't look to strong. So I bought another cross member and took it to a z car specialist in hawthorne cal. to have them have a crack at it. Well, I'll be picking it up next week all done. All I'll have to do is bolt in the new/modified crossmember and the moded steering shaft to the car. Now i have to figure out the pump mounting to the engine and the pulley problem? Oh well one step at a time I guess. I post some new pictures next week.
