MAYHEM
Has anyone heard or have a Z with a chamber exhaust installed? I am looking at sound quality I might be installing one on my Z down the road. My friend that specializes in Z cars, call me over to see one of his clients cars. It had the 3 carb setup with a header and some engine work done, but the muffler he installed was a 3 chamber FlowMaster, it was installed midway between the seats, not at the back and in a nut shell it sounded AWESOME. V-8 AWESOME. I remember the chamber muffler I installed on my Vette, and was always told, that the sound was incredible. OBTW, when I say chamber exhaust I'm referring to the 1969 Camaro style chamber muffler. (They look like straight glasspacks with out the glass, and there are 4 pinches on the side.) SleeperZ
I had a chambered muffler, and the resonation inside the car was awful. It worked alright for flow, but I recently installed a Dynomax Ultraflow muffler (3", NOT chambered), and I like the sound better - it is a little quieter, and not nearly as resonant inside the car. Of course it flows better too, but the old one was 2-1/2".
