Guest 90hbstock
I am new to owning a Z car and have just bought a 1979 280zx 2+2 and was wondering what kind of engine swaps I could do to it. I know that there are kits to install V-8's in them but I'd much rather keep with a six cylinder. I'd like to keep it looking stock under the hood, maybe a there's a V-6 conversion or something like that. I know I sound stupid, but I'm trying to see what there is to do out there. I'd prefer it if I could buy like a wrecked Nissan Maxima or Altima and swap it in. Any info or websites would be really appreciated. Thanks
Guest 90hbstock
Is it possible to swap in a late model 240sx motor? I am trying to modernize my Z without going the V-8 route unless if that's what you guys suggest to do. I am not all about the horsepower, I wan to drive it daily too. Dayz
First of all, the engines you are talking about don't have a ot more potential then the L28. My advice for you would be to consider the L28 turbo. It is a pretty easy swap and a lot of good power!!! Good luck!!
Tim240z
Don't discount the V8 so quickly. Look at Dave Greimann's site. Now tell me this doesn't look like the factory didn't put it in there!: http://home.earthlink.net/~dvgreimann/index.html Tim
