iam 17 and not full coverage just what you need to have to driv it is only 90 a month and thats with 4 tickets so its not that bad becuse its an old car they just look at the vaule and age of the car when it gets that old (i think )

Mine isn't that bad. It would be $5000 a year if you were under your own coverage plan and driving a new car. My dad just found out that its actually cheaper for me to be the main driver on the 240Z instead of the 91' Honda hatch. That is a STD Civic with only 80HP too.

I just turned 17 and live in california. Mine is so cheap my dad doesn't even bother me about it and he just pays it for me. I am happy I bought this car. I wish he would buy me parts though

im actually paying 90 a month on my 92 honda prelude. well, i think its closer to 100, but when i got on the plan my mom's insurance dropped so she picked up the difference. The trick is to not get comprehensive coverage, and then take real good care of your car. I.E., dont get it stolen, dont hit inanimate objects, etc...

I think my insurance must be in the below-$90 a month range, don't remember exactly (parents pay it for me while in school and it recently changed slightly) but it's really cheap. I'm 21 and it has good liability and comprehensive coverage but no collision, I have clean driving record, it's tacked on to my parents' policy and there's things like good student discount, etc.

When I had my 84 Civic and the Z, I paid $212 for 6 months of coverage on the Civic...since it wasn't listed as anyone's "regular" car.

If you spend enough on modifications, you can get coverage for what all the work/parts cost, but I'm sure that would cost a lot. You may feel it's necessary though if you're talking RB engines, expensive rims, really nice paint, etc. There's a lot of jealous assholes out there, for example a friend of mine who has a Mustang Cobra had his car keyed all the way down through the primer all along one side, and it wasn't even like he parked it there overnight, he was inside a store or something...anyway that's probably more like comprehensive coverage, but you might find that sort of coverage would be worthwhile. Or just own a beater like my car :-D

yea, for us with Zs still in primer and all, being keyed down to the primer isnt a big deal... :D Just don't pop the hood for too many people, and make sure that intercooler isnt TOO obvious...

$90 a month thats cheap for having four tickets. my brother was saying you guys were bull shitting because when he was our age he was being quated 350 but that was for full coverage. on either his chevy corvair (the best car chevy ever made)(rear engine) or maybe well forget it i don't know what it was but, i still have to talk my dad into letting me keep the car. he is trying to get me to drive a 240sx coupe instead. any body think i should go for it?

Sunbelt performance turboed a 240sx and it made 380 ftlb. torque at the wheels. I'll have to see if I can find the page somewhere again. I'll agree, it is more of a girlish styling, but they can be built to make some good power. Their alright cars having a nice big 2.4 litre 4 cylinder (dont get me wrong,I dont want one!) I would go for the Z though, at least 600 lbs lighter and much easier to work on and modify. Plus they look a hell of a lot better than a 240sx. What comes after Z?

Chase.

Here you guys go....this is the 240sx Im mentioned. Sunbelt performance did their motor, their doing some work for my 280turbo also. Great company and know what they're doing, but not very punctual. Guess their tied up with race companies. Well heres the 240sx turbo site.

http://www.executivecleancar.com/240/presentmods.htm

Scroll down and you'll find dyno charts, engine pic, and the whole car description and setup. I was off by a bit on my guess of the torque, check out the numbers. May not like the body styling, but after sunbelt performance get their hands on it I like the power.
