We are converting a 1988 300ZX with a chevy 350 and T5 5speed manual tranny. We jerked out the old na v6 today and slid in the 350 for a test fit. You would not believe it! The 350 block saddles fit right down onto the rubber frame mounts!!!!!!!!!!!! There will be very little modifications required to bolt this setup in. Look to our 350ZX conversion page for more info. Took a bunch of pics today will have them posted tomorrow.

The stock manifolds (that we have) are encroached on by the steering. However there is plenty of room for something. We are going to look at more manifolds (there are many, many different designs) and I hear that the montecarlo ss manifolds snake over the top. Otherwise we are going to try block hugger headers or if all else fails, we have a profession street rod builder doing the engine and trans mounts and he said he can modify headers for us! Stay tuned.

Just wondering what:

1) the weight of the car with the stock engine is and it's front/rear weight ratio.

2) either the stock engine/trans weight or the body weight (including front/rear) is without the engine.

In other words, how much will this thing weigh when you get a Chevy v8 in it, and what will the weight distribution be? If you don't know yet, this is something people will want to know to see if it's a "pig" handling wise, etc.

What kind of engine/parts are you using and what transmission?

Sounds like a cool project. That'll be one hell of a GT!

This is going to be great. I don't see many 300 conversions. I'm very curious about the weight distribution as well. Compared to that of the stock drivetrain. Keep us posted. Whats your website?? What are the specs on your engine?
