Heat shielding with turbo

Placement issues with my driver's side turbo forces the turbine housing to sit with between 1" and 3/4" separation from the side of the brake master cylinder.

What can I do to prevent boiling my brake fluid? How effective is heatshielding, and are there any special precautions I should take? What should I make my heat shielding out of?

The budget is an issue second only to safety.

My 280Z has a heatshield around the master already. If yours doesn't have one, get one out of a scrapyard and bolt it in. I just ran all day at the road track Saturday with my downpipe 1-1/2" from the proportioning valve and with my stock heatshields installed, never had a braking problem.

The stock one doesn't fit as is. I have to remove it and the mounting bracket, though I should be able to modify it to fit.
