Phantom
I have a '77 280Z. Just replaced the compressor, drier and all the hoses during the LS1 conversion. It still has the original evaporator, condenser, and expansion valve. The pressures on the system are 150 psi discharge and 15-20 psi suction. This indicates probably a high pressure loss across the expansion valve which may account for the weakness of the system. Anyone else replaced their expansion valve and seen an improvement in AC performance? If so, where did yo get the valve?
Dan Juday
Sounds like an obstruction to me. Even a very small partical anywhere in the system can end up lodged in the TXV. I'd take it apart and check. Cleanliness is next to Godliness in a small A/C system.
