Guest EnthuZiast
Okay, I believe that '79 280ZX trannys have 225mm clutch discs. Is this correct? What is the size of the turbo clutches?(can I use a turbo clutch?) What are your opinions on aftermarket flywheels? Is it worth it for a stock/nearly stock L28? What is the best bang-for-the-buck? The only one I've looked at is the Victoria British $500 Aluminum one. Does MSA have a better one? Or, should I just stick to the stock flywheel? Thanks guys. BayAreaZT
You have to use the turbo flywheel to use the turbo clutch. It's 240mm vs 225mm. I've never used a lightweight flywheel but I don't think it's worth it for a stock L28.
Guest EnthuZiast
Is it a bolt on swap to replace the n/a flywheel with a turbo flywheel?
fl327
it bolts right in, good idea to get the throwout bearing, clutch fork, and slave cylinder for a 2+2 z, its the same thign as the turbo stuff, same flywheel too. bolts in and you are rockin. not sure if it makes much difference though, nowadays they make some great clutches for two seaters that should hold. stuff has come a long way.
