The PPG product sheet makes no mention of it but a search on the net shows that some people have used it. Can I use a laquer thinner instead of the DT reducer? Jeff Posted June 17, 2003 Share Posted June 17, 2003 I'm not familiar with 2010 but a painter friend of mine swears by the 2020 and for that I know you can use the DT reducer. You can't use laquer thinner as the clear is not a laquer type product. I believe base coat clear coat products are urethane. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
