CruxGNZ
What year/model are the parts cars you have access to? !M!
Jwink25
HP wise I believe that the stock L28ET puts out about 180. I think a 240Z with stock L28ET will get into the high 13s? So a 280Z will be a little slower. I am doing a turbo swap into a 1971 240Z. You need to get all the engine wiring and computer out of the turbo car. GET THE COIL! I think the engine mounts are the same. I am going to use lots of aftermarket stuff in my swap...so I am not totaly sure if that is all you are going to need. Your car is already F/I right? So that will make some things easier for you. I am also, doing things like; 3" downpipe, upgraded turbo, gasket matching the intake and TB. Bigger TB...like a 240SX one. And if money allows, Microtech fuel and ignition system. Good luck, Jason

frank280zx
well the list as fad as i can oversee it: Given you first want to have a stock L28ET running in you're early z. I astart with the radiotor, if equipped external oil cooler, the motor mounts are the same. Futher you will need the ECU ( located at the kick panel on the driversside when you have a lhd) say where you're ankle always is, it is a 10/15 cm blueish box. As far as the wiring goes, you pretty much need the complete harnes that goes from there, to the injectors ( just janked it all, you never know what it comes in handy for) Get the ignition coil AFM , J pipe/downpipe, boost sensor located on the driversside in fromt of the strut trower in the enginebay I heard you talk about halfshafst? what diff are you runnin, if a r180 i would take the diff too i guess this is about it anything i left out guys Note i have a 280zxt turbo i have never done a swap like this But when in a junkyard buying an engine, my experiance is the will not or close to nothing, for the extra stuff you yank, so i would strip the intire engine bay, also if you want CC and all yank the control units from under the drivers and passanger seat. If it is a 83 or 83 Turbo, take the talking lady ( if equipped) and sell her on ebay orso ( it is located in the spare tire compartment in the upper corner on the wheel well good luck agian guys anything left out? rags
Well it doesn't look like I'm getting the half shafts from that car I would also get the rear calipers and disks, brake master cylinder, and heat shields for the M/C. Also, you can make some money on the turbo wheels on Ebay. Joe

Guest toyotasupra17
yeah its a 82 at...well the guy im buying it from has just a turbo motor and a complete car...i told him i just wanted the motor cause it has 50k on it i think the complete car has over 100k so should i get the motor and the car and just sell the 100k motor? i think it would be easier that way....
