Guest gtmattz
Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone has had any exierience running low profile tires on gravel roads for a lengthy amt of time? I am working on rebuilding my 78 280Z and want to go with a larger rim/lower profile tire for better handling characteristics (not to mention it just looks sweet), BUT I live down about 4 miles of gravel/dirt roads. I dont want to have to be replacingrepairing the tires every 3 months :
Tim240z
Depends what the gravel is like. If the stones are sharp, then you will have a problem. If they are rounded like river stone, then no problem. I would be more worried about the bodywork/paint. Tim
j260z
is the road bumpy? if you are stiffening the shocks and going to a low profile tire you may get some wheel hop on a bumpy gravel road.
