Jeff
I had dropped the suspension out of my Z quite a while ago when I put it on the rotisserie but I had never disassembled it. I've read lots of posts about how difficult it can be but damn it took me two days to get it apart. I had the gland nut from Hell on one of the front struts but after lots of Kroil and heat I was victorious. I'm sure glad I'm going to coilovers because I destroyed a couple of the spring perches beating on them to get the strut cartridges out. I put the rod of the strut cartridge in the vice and then used the spring perch as a sacraficial spot to beat on. I can't imagine doing this without air tools either. O.K I'm done ranting, it just feels good to have it apart.
CruxGNZ
At least you didn't have to try and pull the cartridge out by using two full size pickup trucks. I have a picture of it if you want a good laugh. Oh yeah, the cartridge won !M!
Jeff
I remember that thread Mat it should be designated as a HybridZ classic. I actually thought about you as I was beating the crap out of my spring perch and told a friend your story. He just looked at me like
CruxGNZ
I actually thought about you as I was beating the crap out of my spring perch Ah... thanks? (it sounds funny when you don't have the full story ) That picture with the heading, "If you have to go to these extreme's, just go to the junk yard and get yourself a new one", should be added to the FAQ page. !M! speeder
Let me know when you get to the spindle pins... and need the puller.
Jeff
Thanks Rick but I went ahead and ordered a puller yesterday. Zthang43 has them available again. Everything else is apart and the two spindle pins are all that I have left to remove.

CruxGNZ
I had the e-brake set on the Ford and the Chevy started to drag it !M!
johnc
You needed a running start with those trucks. About 40' of chain and a 25' snatch 'em strap would have worked.
