MAYHEM
How easy will a AFM get damaged from a backfire (intake)? I read in another thread that it will only take a few backfires to damage one. My car is a stocker '77, with a issue of backfireing a off ide pull till 2500ish. Also what would constitute an adjustment (adjusting the gear one tooth over) of the AFM ? Thanks in advace
Cruez
Was the throttle fully open? I had that happen a few times in the past.... Never damaged one though.
MAYHEM
Hey what's up, Cruez? Open, yes but not WOT. More like off idle slipping the clutch to move from a standstill.
Cruez
I'd check the timing first...Doesn't sound like a fuel problem. I altered the AFM only after doing quite a few mods to the car...
