  1. Dropping in after a few years hiatus.... Still have the Datsuns.. The Z, the 510 wagon..etc. Life gets busy... spent a few years building a shop for the projects. I am glad this forum is still going, especially since the rest of the internet has gradually turned to commercial junk. My Z project will be be started back up again soon, almost ready for prep work and paint. The turbo engine is ready to go in. The Z was supposed to be the fast car..... until I ran across an opportunity I couldn't pass up.... One is the day I picked it up (with the kids inspecting it :) )and the other is from October at the Tail of the Dragon with a large group of other GT-R's. The rest of the stable is not going anywhere.
  2. Done. This forum has been around a long time and has a lot of valuable information. Don't want to see it go anywhere.

    E6 question..

I have an E6. My question is it possible to run an additional fuel injector piggy backed off the primary?.. and set up the initial pulse signal to be shorter to essentially cut the amount of fuel per injector. and more available at WOT ... The engine was running an F series before (I think) with 12 injectors.
  4. Will be around a little more since the 510 wagon project is pretty much complete...and then a Sentra diesel project came up....Pulled the 280Z out of the barn and starting back on it. I have a 450 crank hp turbo engine ready to go in... but the floorpans and a few other issues will need to corrected first.
  5. I used the RAAM mat on my wagon build... stuff works great IMO.
  6. Anyone in NC have a complete hatch for an early 300zx? and possibly a windshield?
  7. No one have an opinion? I hate to take apart the whole thing and start from scratch.
  8. I took apart a solid axle H190 rearend. The center chunk was not dissembled, only took it out of the housing. The axles were removed and new axle bearings and seals were put in. Now, when I got it all back together, there now is a whine in the rearend around 45 mph. Here is my question, IF, the axles were put in the opposite side, could that cause the noise? I know it sounds like a pinion meshing noise but could it possibly be because the axles might have swapped sides?
  9. I am ashamed... I haven't been reading the posts or posting for that matter in a while.. Besides the powder coating business, the wagon project and we recently had a fire at the house and.... well.... My time is being consumed. I am actually posting from the carPC that will be going in the wagon.. We are at a rental house and all our stuff was taken (that wasn't damaged) to be cleaned... I hope to pay a little more attention to the boards as soon as things settle down a bit around the house.. Ryan
  10. Nice... I was watching the F/A gauge also... seems to be in tune nicely!
  11. I think its a pretty good looking idea.. I like the big wheels on it also, they "fit" the design ques with the shorter body lines.
  12. That's the guy... isn't he an anesthesiologist? No launch control ... although I really didn't think it was necessary
  13. My wife got me a birthday present where I got to drive some nice cars on Saturday... First was a Lamborghini Gallardo, then an Aston Martin Vantage, and the icing on the cake was the GTR. The Lambo was nice and pretty fast it had an odd feeling when you first get going, almost felt like a locker in the rear end. The Aston had an amazing sound.. the exhaust opens up at about 4k.. I spent more time in the GTR... needless to say... anyone got an extra $85 grand I can have Its comfortable, quick and handles great. I can honestly say that I could comfortably drive that car everyday to work. I had a smile on my fast the entire time driving. I've got a video, but not online yet... not the best camera work either
  14. I agree with this also, the main reason I put new rubber ones on the wagon.. Some people have drilled holes in the urethane bushings to give the a little more "give"

    my new dash

Personally, I wouldn't paint it.. I would put a different type on it. There are kits available lots of places. I put a black woodgrain in my Maxima and I loved how it turned out.
  16. Went by quite a few that are dry... the price is dropping where I live from $4.28 to $3.75... but they are still out of gas
  17. RIP... The world has lost a fine gentleman.. IMO
  18. The Metallica does seem to have some of the "Original" Metallica sound.. His voice does have a different sound now... The songs still sound a little overproduced.. The Day That Never Comes really sounds good in the intro...
  19. I think I will be running 30w with a little tranny fluid..
  20. That really sucks..... two kind of people I hate... Liars and Thieves Along with some creative security things... a lojack or some sort of GPS tracking device will be something I will look into.. A cheap cellphone can even be setup to be tracked..easily
  21. I actually saw him in concert years ago in Dollywood.... Real funny guy. RIP
  22. Yep, and that engine likes to rev also... That engine does have its own sound... almost has that motorcycle tone to it..
  23. Nice work.... I've got a '91 SHO and would love to have one in a Z... or even my wagon I thought it was a little on the heavy side... doesn't it have an iron block??? That was my only downside to the SHO engine vs a VQ30. But the SHO intake is so purty
  24. Still on it... Headliner is in... dash is in.. soundproofing is almost complete... carpet to be ordered... waiting on a few parts before I can start it up again. Have to make a trip to pick up some front seats so I can get the measurements on building the console. Coated one of the bumpers the gunmetal color... didn't like it so they are off to be rechromed.
