Guest Anonymous
Does anybody know of a good place on line to buy a 95 LT1 and T56 transmission? Is this the best chose for fuel injection and will I have a problem installing air conditoning? I have a 78Z. Thanks Love this site!
Tim240z
Dude, Welcome. I am not on my normal computer so I can't post all the links, but do a search on LT1 and you will find about half a dozen choices of vendors. Tim
Guest Big Phil
I bought my 95 LT1 with a automatic transmission from GM Sports Salvage in San Jose, California. I paid $2500 for everything including the ECU and wiring harness. You can also contact Billy Graham's or HP Salvage. All three are excellent sources for the motor and trans you are looking for. I chose to go with an automatic instead of a T56 since my 78 280z going to be my commuter car (100 miles a day) and California stop and go traffic is a pain in the #$*@. Tim240z
Also check the local papers/classifieds. I found mine (94 LT1 and T56) for 1400 bucks and got to hear the car run (i revved the hell out of it and didn't see even a hint of smoke anywhere). For that price I had to pull it myself (me and Dave), but I saw that as a bonus 'cause I could see where all the stuff went in the OEM setup. I got to take anything off the car that I wanted/needed, so I took everything that was connected to the engine.Tim

Guest Anonymous
Hi all, Just a note on GM sports salvage. Usually they are cool but MAKE SURE you get a good quote from them. I tried to buy a 700R4 from them one time and the guy I was talking to on the phone asked to put me on hold. He thought he had me on hold but I heard him tell the guy in the background that I sounded like a kid. The guy in the background responded by telling him to charge me an extra 800 bucks. Needless to say he got an earful and lost my Biz. Hopefully this doesn't happen to any of you guys. Just a heads up.
