Boobala
Well, have you? Seems to me it would make a good swap for a street car. The N/A M3 engine (E46) makes 330+ Hp.
Drax240z
Way back when I considered going the "big 6" route and using a 3.3 or 3.5L BMW inline 6... would have been interesting to be sure, and I sortof wish I had gone that route, but it's definately not a bolt in. 3.5L and a crossflow head... that would have been a nice base! alternativez2003
Boobala, you mentioned some time ago a question of swapping a BMW straight 6 (3.5) engine into a Z. I am serious about that very thing; my 1985 635 Csi is the donor. Did you ever get any response? I did the SB 327 swap many years ago, but I much prefer the six and the 635 has always reminded me of driving the 240. Do you know the whole Albrecht Goertz story? Guest abas
My first post!!!! A BMW engine swap would make sense for me if its possible due to the easy availability of BMW parts. I owned a 325i a couple of years back and I always felt it was my 'modern Z'. I am however a newcomer to the idea of swapping engines and transmissions and so I'm heavily into the learning stages at present
