Guest Anonymous
so im thinking its pretty easy right? just tap the oil pan with a bung and screw in an oil temp sensor and then wire it into the little autometer guage i install in the dash...right? but my REAL question is what oil temp sensor should i use? i need something small and easy to find, like maybe something from ford? anyone else done this? suggestions greatly appreciated. cheers- Yanos
jaime240z
I'm pretty sure Autometer temp guages are a complete unit for mechanical temp guages. I believe the elec. temp guages come with senders too, but I would call summit racing or jegs to be sure. summit: 800-230-3030
Tim240z
I put one in my LT1 (in my 240Z). I used the Autometer Ultralite electrical. Comes with everything you need except for some wire for the sender to the gauge. I used a hole that already exists in the LT1 pan (for the low oil warning sender), but you're right, just drill a hole, thread in the fitting (with some good sealant), making sure that the sender is low enough to be in the oil.
