Jwink25 Posted July 17, 2003 Share Posted July 17, 2003 I need to know if they all can be interchanged...I am in the middle of rebuilding my 1982 Turbo L6 and have an older cover(off of a 240 or 260 engine) in better shape than the one that came on the engine. They look the same, as far as I can tell. What bothers me is, if there is the possibility of...say a different water passage route or, something that may not be easily noticed. j260z Posted July 23, 2003 Share Posted July 23, 2003 i can confirm that from 70 - 83 they all use the same oil pump,water pump, timing chain, camshaft gear, crankshaft gear, oil seal, gasket set and they all look the same but i cannot confirm that they are the same. on the other hand i think that the evidence is overwhelming that they are the same.
