nightlightsnyny
Hi, I am looking at a set of Konig Monsoon 16 x 7 wheels. I have two questions. Will they fit a stock 1978 280z? The guy selling them says they are a universal four lug pattern What is considered universal 4 lug pattern? Any help would be great. David K
You probably need bolt on spacers for those wheels. Ross C could help you with a nice setup http://www.modern-motorsports.com/
Guest greimann
The bolt pattern will fit but the offset is wrong. You will need a set of adapters to make up the difference. Like Dave K said, Modern motorsports has 'em in stock. Here is a more indepth explanation: http://home.earthlink.net/~dvgreimann/wheels.html
80LS1T
Nice choise of rims! I have them in a 17x7 though. Universal means it will have 8 lug holes(for a 4 bolt pattern) One will be a 4x100mm pattern and the other will be a 4x114.5mm(I think its 114.5mm or is it just 114mm or is it completly different? ) Anyways heres a pic of my 17x7s(Monsoon rims!) http://www.datsun-280zx-lt1.com/Big_Pictures/Body_and_Wheels/rim1.jpg Hey Greimann did you use longer wheel studs on yours or are you still running the stock wheel studs to hold on the adapters? I thought you said you did but in that pic it doesnt look like? Guy
Guest greimann
Look at the pic again. 4 open back nuts hold the adapter on the stock studs and the adapter studs mount the wheel.
80LS1T
Yeah I see that but it just looks like the studs arent all the way to the top of the lugs holding spacer on? Am I just blind? Guy
Guest greimann
You are right, the studs are not all the way to the top of the nuts. They don't have to be. Technically, if you can put 6 full turns on a nut, that is sufficient thread engagement to make it secure. The picture shows a stock ZX front hub with a 1.5" thick adapter from Modern Motorsports. Everything works out fine.
