Mike C
I have Manley ProFlos in my Camaro and run on the street with super unleaded 12k miles (see post on roller lifters) with no troubles. Ferrea is well known, but pricey, correct?
Guest Anonymous
Manley, hands down. Excellent quality at a reasonable price.
Guest Anonymous
I have used name brand and no name valves in motors for years . When picking a valve I look for a couple of things . 1. A welded on hard tip 2. Chrome plated stems Then I look at what RPM I will run the motor at and how much spring pressure. So to answer your question , If the motor will see high RPM for long periods of time (6500 and up for 1 hr and more ) I buy GOOD valves , but if the motor Is driven on the street and sees stop light action or auto cross . I keep Spring pressures 110-120 on the seat and use A valve next step up from stock . Remember valves break for 3 basic reasons 1. To high of exhaust heat ( weakens the valve at the point just behind the head ) 2. Detenation ( Defroms the head ) 3. Valve float ( Piston Contact ) Good Luck TM
