georgiaz
I have been reviewing posts on wheel and tires for many months and settled on the following setup: Stock springs/KYB gas struts Modern Motorsports Z to Honda wheel adaptors 16X7 wheels with 4" backspacing and +42 offset 215/50/16 tires I decided that with all of the various opinions of what will and will not fit, I figured the only way to know for sure was to try them on for size. Opinions please!!
EvilRufusKay
sorry, I don't know the answer to your question but I was hoping you could help me understand backspacing and offset. I see these things in posts all the time but don't know how to interpret them. I think I might have an idea but then again I thought I understood my wife!!! Thanks!!! georgiaz
I can't pretend to be qualified to give an explanation on that topic. That stuff gives me a headache just reading about it. Do a search on the topic and you will have all of the explanations you could ever ask for.

Guest cbrunberg
Offset is the distance from the centerline of the rim. Measure outer lip to outer lip (ie if it's a 15 x 7inch rim it's approx 7 1/2 inches) and divide by 2 the offset is plus or minus from that point. Backspace is from the bolt mating surface inside the rim to the innermost edge of the rim near where it would hit the strut tube or spring. Lay the wheel outer face down lay a yard stick across the wheel and measure from the bolt face to the yard stick.
