Cruez
I was in the garage Sunday changing the brakes on the wifes Maxima... and I wanted to see what those wheels would look like on the Z... (Its the 4th gen SE Limited wheels in Titanium.) So, I push the Z out of the garage and proceed to jack it up...... in the process, I noticed a slight bubbling of the rust proofing under the floorpans... I push on it a bit and my fingers went THROUGH THE FLOOR PAN!!.... NOOOOOOooooooo!!!.. This really sux.... this car was relatively rust free up until it had to sit outside, undriven for three years..... This is heatbreaking.... Now I guess I'll just start from scratch..(AGAIN).... through the entire car and build it again.... (After I get the EFI system running correctly, that is)... Oh, BTW..... Those rims looked very good on the car.... I'll post a pic this evening..
DavyZ
Same thing happened to Auxilary, but I don't think his is so extensive--some new pans and he should be fine. Maybe yours is not as bad as you think. Davy
Cruez
Actually its not really bad.... seems to be localized in the the passenger side floor pan. (water stood in it for god knows how long) I poked on the frame rails.. they are still ok. If I was smart I would have taken the plugs and the carpet out while it was sitting.. A few days before I found it..... I had already mentioned to the wife that I was not going to buy a new car ( I was pondering buying a used Lexus GS400) ... and that I was going to put the money into the Z..... little did I know that I had another part to add to the project
