Is the S10 5spd the same tranny that is

suppose to stand the stock power of a 350,

275--300hp.? Chelton specs 69 350 10/1

295hp. with a 4

Its different and has much smaller torque capabilities than the V8 T-5. Look for one out of a 305 engine at least and if you plan on hammering on it, you'd better talk to a few of the transmission experts (Hanlon, etc) to put some mods on it or it'll fail at one point no question. Some have had no trouble, but I suspect they are easier on the tranny than someone who never lifts they're foot off the gas during a shift. ;)

Brand new world class V6 T5 from camero 1989 vintage lasted two days of testing for driveline vibration. Did not like 400 pound feet of torque . Did not speed shift or drop clutch. just put it in gear started rolling ,and stepped on it. Wasted 900.00 buying this new.

A modified v8 t5 may take the power but I would sya stay away from the v6 t5 if you are producing over 230 lb.ft
