Guest Looking for apt in Alb Ny
Adam from Z1 performance sent me over what he wants mounted on his 280 ZX. Ap Racing's road caliper 6 piston # cp5570-802s4 to go with 13 x 1.100 inch rotors 12 bolt pattern. Just thought I would let everyone know. Its easier to put 13 inch brakes on the 280zx because it allows for more clearance in the control arm area and makes caliper bracket much simpler than 12 inch brakes . Its tighter in the ZX! Stay tune
David K
And for all those people who say the 280zx is too hard to modify. Ahhh, life is good 8)

Guest Looking for apt in Alb Ny
Hey everyone Here is what I came up with. Yea its Saturday night and I am working hard at this. 2 hrs calculating at home. Well the hat is going to measure 27.3mm from mounting surface of rotor to hub. The steel bracket will be u shaped. Bottom portion that bolts to spindle will be .5 inch thick! Well I wanted to make a beefy bracket. With it that thick I could probably go aluminum bracket. Any body want to inquire? The rest of the bracket will offset at the top to make room for the mounting the caliper. From the .5 inch will extend further at the top another inch . This will have the 10mm bore drilled through to clamp the bad boy AP caliper on. I just have chicken scratch of my work and will show you some sketches when I get some time. Enjoy your night Juan
Guest JAMIE T
So Maybe Z1 can chime in here. How much do the rotors and calipers COST? I'd like something like that for my 240Z.
Cody 82 ZXT
I'd like to see the brackets be alunimum for the weight savings but, not to beat a dead horse "what about the strengh?" Are we talking about Wilwood rotors or what? Were is a good place to get the AP calipers?
Guest Looking for apt in Alb Ny
I will not be supplying the brake setup. Z1 contacted me about building the setup for them. I will be soon giving them a quote on the machining from 1 though 10 sets. He will be the determining factor in price for the hat and brackets. I am sticking with Wilwood. Your average Zer will not be able to afford the AP caliper/rotor setup. Man the brakes are real nice but can cost 3-4 times as much as Wilwoods. There is a big 10 ton press I think at the shop. I will have them machine an aluminum piece and see how it holds up to bending pressure. I think it will be sufficient considering the size of the bracket and the way we will structure it. I like this one it needs a mullet! Juan

Guest Looking for apt in Alb Ny
I have the hats done. Only thing left is the bracket. Trying to get some other related machining pitched in to help keep cost down. Thanks Juan
