Guest jeepxr400
I put this in the ignition section but nobody's there. So................. I've got a 71 240Z and when the key is put to the START possition A relay above the passengers "foot" clicks. No starter action. I thought it might be the solinoid so i put in a new starter(old starter was good). Same condition. I took a screw driver and bridged the "positive" and the "blade" on the starter, it works. I dont know anything about electricicty but is it the clicking relay at fault? I got good conections all around. Thanks, Forrest.
jaime240z
I recently had the same problem. Look in the Troubleshooting Category for my thread. I think the title was Car won't start. Help with parts ID. I'll try to link it here.....

GAZRNR
Had a friend with a 78Z that had a similar problem. After replacing the starter he changed the battery cables and the problem was solved. The cables looked fine but when we cut one open it was all green corrosion on the inside.
Guest jeepxr400
I'll double check tues. If i can jump it at the starter, it has good cable power right?
