"Mild" Z's

A car that is not rust damaged should take that kind of power (under 400 HP) but you will want a 200 rear end out of a 280 Z

Hi Jay,

I may have one of the milder V8 350's.

It's a Vortec 350 and had it on the dyno and only came in at 220RWHP.

Also it has a 700R4 trans.

Best 1/4 mile time is 13.307@101 so far.

I have done a few changes since the last time I took it out.

Dave

I agree with tomahawk that the original rust free z floor is pretty good for 350ish but if you intend of ever bumping that figure a subframe bolted or welded, prefer welded myself, is a very good idea. IMO! :D

240z w/V8

2500lbs/370hp=6.76

2002 Z06 Corvette

3117lbs/405hp=7.70

I think 370hp would make for more than a mild Z. When people talk about mild they are usually talking about GM stock-replacement motors and junkyard motors (probably excluding the LS1.) 225-300hp.

350 horses ? to hold our own with most stock vettes?

a properly converted 240z will weigh in around 2500-2600 pounds or 250 pounds LESS the the lightest late modle vetters. 500 pounds lighter then some of the heaveier ones..

a 300 horse motor in a z should hold its own with any vette.. 350 horses in a 2500 pound car = high 11 second quarter miles.
