Hi guys Im new here. Is an 1985 300zx a good project to swap a 406 into? I notice that the "Bible" stops at 1979. Would this swap be the same or is there another source to locate info?

Thanks

WELCOME!! No "Revalations" in the JTR Bible for a 1985 ZX SBC swap and little else/anywhere else. You will have to scrounge information to find some one who diD this swap. Research it in this forum or on the internet and report your findings. It would make a great swap that certainly must haVE BEEN DONE.

Yup, it's been done, I've seen pictures somewhere, but I have no more help to provide than that. It's gotta be easier than an early Z swap (except for the availability of a kit).

If someone wants to donate a 300ZX, I'll make a kit :D

I'm not sure anything could be easier than the swap into th eolder zs. I seem to recall someone working on this swap awhile back and having issues with power steering and other things. I'm pretty sure it'll by harder than an older Z :(

well heres the deal, you give me a cherry 300zx free and clear, and I write the manual as I go,make patterns on all custom engine mounts, trans mounts, drive shaft mods ETC. take lots of pictures and give you a ride when Im done installing a chevy v-8 in it, Ive got a 383 and a 454 in the gararge now that would love to run around town wrapped in a nice 300zx :D
